We often know intuitively what we should be doing with our lives, but our inner critic can get loud in its efforts to protect us from the unknown, making it hard to move forward on the path of sharing our gifts. In this episode, Tara Mohr shares how you can more easily listen to your intuition, overcome the 2 types of fear, and keep moving forward on your path of purpose - even when your inner critic is shouting.

Jen Granneman is changing lives and making it easier for other introverts to embrace their introversion and understand how to thrive, not just survive. Learn how introverts can dive deep within their relationships and their interests.

Jenn is on a mission to let introverts everywhere know it’s okay to be who they are. She has advocated for introverts since 2013, when she created IntrovertDear.com, the popular online community and publication for introverts. For most of her life, she felt weird, different, and out of place because of her quiet ways; now, she writes about introversion because she doesn’t want other introverts to feel the way she did. Jenn lives in Minnesota with her two cats. She's the author of the book, The Secret Lives of Introverts: Inside Our Hidden World.

Nuggets of Wisdom from Jenn:

"Spend your free time the way you like, not the way you think you’re supposed to.” (from Susan Kane, author of QUIET. This quote reminds me that my time is really my time."

"I just try to pay attention to how I’m feeling both in the moment and after something, after an event."

"For most of my life, I felt like there was something wrong with me. I bet a lot of introverts can relate to this sentiment. Growing up, the teacher said, 'You’re so quiet.' My parents prodded, 'Why don’t you talk more?' And I inevitably got what I call in my book an 'Introvert Hangover,' which is when you feel physically unwell from too much socializing. I wondered why other people could keep on going. Why could they keep going the next day or later in the night?"

"When I read the book called, The Introvert Advantage by Marti Olsen Laney, I actually cried because I never felt so understood in my life. I realized there was a word for what I was, an Introvert, and it really seemed like a magic word to me. It’s so magical because it explained so many of the things that I struggled with for my entire life. Things that made me feel bad about myself. And best of all, that word meant I wasn’t alone - there were other people out there like me, other introverts. So say what you will about labeling, but that little label changed my life!"

"I read about introverts because I never want a quiet person to feel the way I did growing up. I just had this compulsion that I had to reach out to other introverts and start connecting with them, to start letting them know what I had discovered."

Some of Jenn's Favorite Things:

"Introverts prefer quiet, low-key environments. We assume they don’t like people - it’s just that they need that down time to show up. They prefer quality over quantity, to dive deep in interests and relationships, to seek meaning in all that they do - DEEP, like to write their thoughts."

"Introverted kids get less attention in a classroom. Don’t SHAME introversion."

Habit:  "DOWN TIME, being alone each day. Even if it's just 10 minutes. Being alone may be the best way to truly rest, whether you’re an introvert or an extrovert. It keeps me from getting cranky. Being alone may be the best time to truly rest, whether you are an introvert or an extrovert."

Favorite Book: "The Introvert Advantage by Marti Olsen Laney" - It explores the biological base for introversion.

Favorite Kitchen Gadget: Tupperware

What does it mean to be a Vibrant Happy Woman?:

"Working with introversion rather than fighting against it. Having solitude. Not only to survive, but to thrive! Not comparing myself to extroverts and others. As an introvert, I have my own strengths. Speaking up for my needs because my introvert needs are valid too."

A Challenge from Jenn:

"Do something ALONE (walk, book, movie). Remember, being alone is the best way to relax, whether you are an introvert or an extrovert. If there’s one thing that we women need in this busy and modern society, it’s more rest."

Learn the 10 happiness-promoting reasons you need to be sharing your gifts with the world. Hint: making a contribution doesn't just make others happier... As Albert Schweitzer said, "The only truly happy people are those who have learned how to serve." But don't panic, because I'll share a couple of very easy (and non-time-consuming) ways that anybody can serve.

As a busy mom of 4 boys, Erin Chase has mastered the art of being one step ahead in the kitchen so it’s easier to prep a quick and healthy meal. Erin not only shares great meal tips, but she explains her philosophy of being fully present for everything she’s doing instead of constantly focusing on the things she still needs to do.

Nuggets of Wisdom from Erin:

“What you don’t track or measure, you’re not going to improve. I track my fitness with 2 different apps… Map My Run for running and Orange Theory."

"Walking through life with grace, with joy, with contentment, with happiness, and I’ll catch myself. You have a choice. It’s not going to help anybody if you yell. Try not to. That’s where the grind happens - just making that choice and choosing the positive, not discounting all the negative emotions. You still have to feel those things, right? Process through them and work through them and start making that choice. That’s what’s beneficial to me and my family now."

"If I want to feel better, I need to be at my best to serve my family and to serve those in our online community and my business, right? And if I’m not at my best, I can’t go day to day like that. It has been a journey."

"One of my biggest goals and strategies, both for myself and for what we teach ourselves (family) is being one step ahead of your hungry family. Like, what can you be doing for the next meal? I would be thinking for the next day, getting into the habit of doing one thing and that mentally checks off things on your list. I’m always doing something for the next meal."

Some of Erin's Favorite Things:

Morning Routine:  "Generally, get the children to school. Number one priority, right? My morning routine really doesn’t happen after that. I feel like my morning routine is flipped backwards. I have my coffee every day, I take my vitamins and supplements, which helps with my arthritis. Really, my morning routine is driving my kids to school or we have a carpool every other week. When I get to the office, I’m not a believer in the 'eat that frog' concept and have a very, very blocked out calendar. If anything needs my attention right away, then I’ll do that. It’s making sure that I have the big tasks for the day in the right order and then I start plowing through everything. My morning routine isn’t that much of a morning routine. I do exercise a couple mornings a week."

Favorite Book: "Ken Follett books - series… 3rd one" and I also love personal development books and small business books.

What does it mean to be a Vibrant Happy Woman?:

"Being present where I am. Being present with my husband, with my boys - and not do more than I should be doing - being present in my business and helping the people in our communities."

"It’s so easy to be a multi-tasker, but I've found out that to be present in that one moment, doing that one thing, then I just exude that happiness, that grace, that joy that we want. When I do more than I should be doing, that’s where it all dissipates. For me, I think, the thing that I work hard at is just being present and that helps me to be at my best. And therefore, that’s when I feel happiest in that moment."

A Challenge from Erin:

"Be one step ahead so you can be more present where you’re at. Understanding and feeling how that’s different and feeling how that’s easier. It’s not going to be perfect every day. Make progress and [take] small steps forward."

Being able to ask powerful questions is an important tool for good communication and happy living, and journaling is a phenomenal way to unlock the answers to those questions. Valorie Burton shows you how in this episode.

For more about Valorie, you can visit her website at www.valorieburton.com

Nuggets of Wisdom from Valorie:

"If you love what you do and you are so passionate about it, you probably would do it even if you don’t get paid for it. That’s the ideal state."

"I discovered my purpose in terms of my actual mission statement. I had an epiphany of it one day at a bookstore in 1999, that I was meant to inspire women to live more fulfilling lives, that I would do it through writing and speaking. Within a few weeks after that, I began writing my first book. I’ve written 11 books. "

"Things have unfolded not as I would have expected them, but in just the right way. I’m not sure I would have been ready for my husband. So I don’t begrudge my divorce or anything else, because it has led me to where I’m supposed to be."

"I believe wholeheartedly in journaling and writing. Writing was a part of who I am as a kid. Journaling has health benefits. It can help us work through trauma. If we can write our best possible selves in our journals, it’s a very powerful exercise. I had written what I had envisioned in the present tense. My journal was full of hope. I think that helped me a great deal in getting to a place where I was ready for what I really wanted."

"I’m a coach. What coaches do best is ask questions. It’s not about having the right answers, it’s about having the questions that help others to be able to come up with their own answers. Because I really believe everyone has their own answers. So the person who’s able to ask powerful questions, whether it’s the question that helps you negotiate better or the question that helps you connect with someone better. Being able to ask powerful questions is really an important tool for good communication."

Some of Valorie's Favorite Things:

Morning Routine:  "Meditate for 5 minutes, pray, think about what I’m looking forward to during the day, asking, 'What do I get to do today?' Always eat breakfast (perhaps a breakfast burrito - spinach/eggs/cheese/burrito)."

Favorite Book: Don Miguel Ruiz's The Four Agreements: A Practical Guide to Personal Freedom"

What does it mean to be a Vibrant Happy Woman?:

"Being vibrant and happy is really a part of how I define success. My definition of success is harmony of purpose, resilience, and joy - knowing I’m here to inspire others."

A Challenge from Valorie:

"Just be happy right now. Stop waiting for things to unfold the way you want to. Stop holding your happiness hostage to your circumstances and make a decision right now to be happy. I made the decision to be happy. It’s a choice. It’s not always easy. It’s a whole lot better when we find reasons."

Many women play small, staying stuck because they don't know how to become craftsmen of their lives and create true emotional and creative abundance. In this episode guest Mastin Kipp shares the steps for women to become more empowered through cultivating emotion that is shared with the world in the form of service.

You can explore more at www.mastinkipp.com

vibranthappyfacebook

Nuggets of Wisdom from Mastin:

“Not mine, but thy will be done.” ~Jesus

"I’m a recovering Christian or a Christian mystic. Truth is truth is truth."

"Religion gets in the way of trying to connect to a higher power - [Jesus] was a great spiritual teacher: being willing to die, metaphorically laying life on the line with faith to go after your purpose, paying attention to the signs that are coming, getting out of fight or flight and into a more intuitive mindset."

"Typically, following your intuition is scary. That’s how great things come to be. When you follow that path and that pattern, the things that you thought you want into your life that are way better than you can possibly imagine - you are going to get through hard times to get there, typically."

"Claim your power functional life coaching is really about accelerating results. It doesn’t need 10 years in therapy. It’s a cornucopia of how you can move forward. Claim your power is a systems approach to creating accelerated results using the process I just described."

"What I care about is that whatever you are doing with your life, it brings you emotional wealth and you are lit up by it."

Some of Mastin's Favorite Things:

"Nighttime routine is solid. Wake up at 4 or 5am. Epsom salt bath. Cardio. Meditation. Gym-lifting. Parasympathetic activities of massage, yoga, stretching…"

"I’m a creature of habit. I do everything I can to make sure my routine is on point."

Favorite Book: Headstrong by Dave Asprey

What does it mean to be a Vibrant Happy Man?

"A vibrant happy man creates safe spaces for feminine beings. Masculine and feminine are not genders - they are energies! Masculinity is not some macho thing, but some cool, calm presence that’s unwavering, it doesn’t move. To me, that’s what it means to be a vibrant and masculine man is all about: being a safe landing space. Men need to be a container when feminine energy is coming out - to listen without trying to fix and solve and to try to understand why using the phrase, 'Tell me more.'"

A Challenge from Mastin:

Goddess Hour (Hero Hour): "Find an hour and sit down and ask yourself 2 questions: 'How am I feeling?' and 'What do I need?' And then to spend the next 20 minutes to an hour giving yourself what you need."

Laura Doyle struggled for years in her marriage until she finally learned the art of letting go of expectations. Learn how she did, how it helped her husband like being around her again, and how Laura is happier than she’s ever been in her relationship. You can explore more at www.lauradoyle.org

vibranthappyfacebook

Nuggets of Wisdom from Laura:

"I stopped trying to control my husband and instead, I focused on my own happiness. And that, in turn improved what he sees. I suffered so much in my marriage. I tried everything I could think of, went to marriage counselling and none of that worked for me. And now I know what actually works to make marriage magical again."

"Restoring respect in your relationship in one of the intimacy skills. Respect is like oxygen for husbands. That is how important it is to them. And when they feel respected, they feel loved."

"Intimacy is not just in the bedroom. It is the interactions, the tenders, the funnies, sometimes it’s those interactions you wouldn’t have with anyone else in the whole world. The physical intimacy is the one thing that differentiates the romance from any other relationship you have in the world. Intimacy is when I feel desired. It’s when I feel that he is seeking my company and when he is sharing with me openly because he feels there is emotional safety. That’s when I know the intimacy is high."

"The only person you can ever control is yourself. And then when I did change, my husband responded to me so differently. It was so much better, like ten times better. For me, it was actually good news."

"Only happy people can have happy relationships. It’s unspeakably wonderful to feel so loved every single day. It gives me a lot of inner strength and I say that not to brag but just to say: This is what’s possible for all women. Cause all husbands respond so beautifully to being respected and they want to make their wives happy."

Some of Laura's Favorite Things:

"Most women feel it’s awful until they do it. And that habit is apologizing to my husband when I am disrespectful. I apologize for being disrespectful… I honor my husband’s thinking.

Express your desires in a way that inspires. To let him hear what I wanted instead of complaining. Instead of saying: John, this place is a disaster area! I would say: John, I would love a clean kitchen."

Favorite kitchen gadget: "My Zester. It adds so much flavor."

Rachael's Favorite Books:
"Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus by John Gray"

Laura's Happiness Formula:

"Asking myself these two questions. How do I feel? What do I want? Desire is the seat of feminine power. Communicate with everyone around me in a way that’s honoring of me but also showing up as a delight and not a bear. Not a martyr, and not a nag, not a porcupine but someone who can smile because you are all filled up."

A Challenge from Laura:

"Get Cherished.com 5 days challenge. Everyday for five days, I will send you an email and do an experiment that’s gonna give you an unfair advantage and making your relationship vibrant and easy. If it works for you, keep it."

Have you ever felt the deep inner calling of your soul to explore a new path, but your fears meant you ignored that voice inside? Rachael Pickworth of Woman on Purpose had always tried to deny her yearning to rise up, honor her truth and express herself authentically, but ultimately the pain of denying her inner truth led to her life and business crashing around her in what she calls a ‘dark night of the soul’.
Rachael reached a point where she could no longer deny her higher calling and went through a realignment process where she addressed the big questions we often try to avoid such as “who am I?” and “what am I here to do?” In this episode Rachael shares her journey, her biggest learnings (including spiritual discoveries and harnessing Law of Attraction) and how they have changed the course of her life and her work in the world.

vibranthappyfacebook

Nuggets of Wisdom from Rachael:

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?' Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others." - Marianne Williamson

"You are a child of God. And in my language, you know that word God - you are a child of the universe or spirit or source energy. Your playing small does not serve the world. We are all meant to shine as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us."

"I eventually discovered coaching around 2001. Trained in that area and I’ve been coaching ever since. The journey of course did not stop there. But what it did was it created a platform for me to make a difference that I wanted to make. I support people to find clarity of purpose and express their purpose in the world. "

"Let’s take the language out of it. Let’s remove any conversation around the law of attraction, the word spiritual. Let’s remove that for just a moment. And let’s just dive into feeling good. So I would say that anyone who is in a place of feeling disconnected, that the opportunities here is to do things that lift your energy and support you to feel good. And really making that your focus. The choice to feel good."

"Thoughts are so powerful. We have to speak as if what we want is coming. It’s not about looking at our existing reality and what is around us now because what we say around us is a reflection of what our past vibration is, it’s a manifestation of our historical thoughts, feelings and vibrations."

Some of Rachael's Favorite Things:

"Reading my favorite books. Listening to great music, favorite music. Do what feels good. Expect miracles to come. Eat what feels good. Trust that it will flow. Raise your vibrations.

I write what I feel writing. Writing the vision of my future. I write what makes me feel incredible. I’m imagining myself there, experiencing it. Raising my vibrations and my point of attraction. Putting my focus there so that it can then show up for me. It can then be created and will then unfold. So that’s what I mean by scripting. It’s writing the picture of what’s coming."

Favorite kitchen gadget: "Husband on the Barbecue"

Rachael's Favorite Books:
"Ask and it is Given by Esther Hicks"
"Conversations with God by Neil Donald Walsch"
"Law of Attraction 101"

Best advice received: "My mom has been the best example. She was so inspiring to decide to leave my dad in her twenties and start a biz and move to Melbourne with 2 kids and set up a biz. GUTSY. Spiritual. Addicted to work, stressed… 4x cancer. Demonstrated how important it is to look after ourselves. Busy is not a badge of honor."

Rachael's Happiness Formula:

"Sleep 8 hours or more + eat well + drink water + morning practice + evening practice (alignment work) + getting out of my own way and liberating myself and being patient with myself. Self Love. Being really True to myself. Being prepared to go my own way and not trim my wings to fit into what our world thinks is normal."

A Challenge from Rachael:

"Give yourself one month to put yourself first - to really put your needs first - what makes you happy and DO IT and do LOTS of it. Don’t self sacrifice and put yourself last. Be happy regardless of circumstances. Plant that energy of “I’m happy”. Watch what unfolds. Morning and evening practice. Focus on high vibes."

Growing up on a farm taught me the value of hard work; however, I’ve worried life in suburbia hasn’t instilled the same work ethic in my kids. Life has converged to help me focus on work ethic, and I share our experience laboring on Labor Day as a family.

After getting goats to provide healthy milk for her eight children, she decided to put some excess milk into a batch of handmade soap. That decision was the beginning of Goat Milk Stuff, a growing goat milk products business that includes Goat Milk Soaps, cheeses, candies, fudge, gelato and more! PJ lives in Indiana with her husband, Jim and eight children. The entire family along with 6 full time employees work hard to promote the goodness of goat milk. Nuggets of Wisdom from PJ:

"Thomas Jefferson - I’m a great believer in luck and the harder I work the more I have of it."

"All that hard work, ultimately, leads to the success that we are looking for."

"By teaching our children how to do things, to cook, to do the dishes, to do the laundry, that frees a lot of my time and leaves me more time to spend having more fun times with them. When everybody works, all the work ultimately gets finished for the day."

"When we started Goat Milk Stuff, everything had to become more focused. Starting a business from the very beginning, I had to involve my children in all the business aspects. It’s all something that we all had to work side by side."

"You start small, you are not going to change something big overnight. That’s where a lot of us Go wrong. We have too drastic of a change too quickly. Pick something. Start with something small. Start with cooking. Pick a meal that you can teach your children to make. Don’t try and do it all radically because if we change too fast, it just falls apart. It’s all hard but it’s worth the effort."

Some of PJ's Favorite Things:

"SLEEP is the priority. I go to bed early. Don’t have time to go to a gym. I incorporate exercise into my day: 10-20 squats in the bathroom and 2 pushups against the sink, calf raises while washing dishes, 1 legged toothbrushing."

Favorite kitchen gadget: Cutco Knives

Niyc's Favorite Books: "Margin by Richard Swenson. Having space in your life. Time, physical energy, finances, and emotional energy. Keep space. That space between being overwhelmed and being able to keep up with where you’re at. Just keep that little bit of space, life will be so much more enjoyable."

Best advice received: "Remember what’s important… You have to look 20 years down the road. Is what I’m doing contributing to that? I want my kids to be best friends and have successful marriages and families of their own and put others’ needs in front of their own. "

PJ's Happiness Formula:

"Sleep + eating well + doing nothing with my family. That would make me happy. Just together being a family. Telling stories, laughing -for me that’s what it’s all about."

A Challenge from PJ:

"Let go of something and create more margin in your life. Say no to something and free up more time. Figure out something that you can let go of. "

Nuggets of Wisdom from Niyc:

"Beautiful flowers blossom in adversity."

"My intention is that I bring together the science side of things and the spirituality side of things, as well as my personal experience and my professional expertise to really give the readers something that they can practically do everyday."

"Meditation is something that allowed me to connect with myself and the highest version of myself."

"I managed to find gratitude for the process and managed to find the gratitude for the fact that, one day, I knew that I would be able to share this story and help other people. Even the bad things that happen to us, we have to find gratitude on some level."

"Happiness is about raising your awareness, showing up in everything you do."

Some of Niyc's Favorite Things:

"My morning ritual/nurturing practice: gratitude rampage, moving into this place of gratitude and abundance, meditation, moving my body & energy around to feel empowered, visualization (standing on stage, seeing flowers), written affirmations, speak out loud my goal… abracadabra… I create what I speak. That which I speak, I create. It’s all about everything we say and bringing that thing into our reality. That is a practice that has given me so much."
